Confirmation Prep

The sacrament of Confirmation in the Diocese of Rochester is usually conferred upon students in grade nine. A two-year program of instruction and preparation is required, beginning nor earlier than 8th grade. Fr. Van Lieshout teaches the youth Confirmation classes on Thursday evenings from 5:30-6:30. Sign-ups for the program begin in July and classes run from September to May.

If you are an adult desiring Confirmation or full communion with the Catholic Church, especially in preparation for marriage, please see our RCIA page, or contact the parish office at (585) 254-3221 to meet with a priest or deacon and determine how best to arrange for your instruction and preparation.

“By the sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed.” (CCC 1285)
