All first responders, which include police, fire and emergency medical technicians, and their families are invited to attend the annual First Responders Mass Sept. 13th.
Bishop John S. Bonnici will be the liturgy’s principal celebrant and homilist.
The First Responders Mass is celebrated to pray for the safety of all first responders who serve the community each day.
Thanks to the generosity of the Diocese of Peoria and Bishop Louis Tylka, the Diocese of Rochester will be receiving a “substantial” first-class relic of Bishop Sheen.
The week after Bishop Sheen’s Beatification in St. Louis on Sept. 24, 2026, Bishop Tylka will visit the Diocese of Rochester to bring us the relic.
We will receive this relic in a special Mass on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026, at 7 p.m. at Rochester’s Sacred Heart Cathedral. All are invited to attend this special event when Bishop Sheen returns to his cathedral, our cathedral!
